Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE that the Bible is God’s Word, that
it was written by men divinely inspired by the Holy
Spirit; we believe that it is absolutely trustworthy
and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and
conduct.
WE BELIEVE in God, the eternal Father who manifests
Himself in three distinct persons: God the Father, God
the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE that He concerns Himself in the affairs
of men, that He hears and answers prayers, and that
He saves everyone from sin and death when they come
to Him through Jesus Christ.
WE BELIEVE in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten
Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin
Mary, sinless in His life, atoning for the sins of the
world by His death on the cross. We believe in His bodily
resurrection; His ascension into Heaven; His intercession
for His people, and His visible, premillenial return
to the world according to His promise.
WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from
God to convince the world of sin, of righteousness,
and of judgment. He regenerates, sanctifies, and comforts
those who believe in Jesus Christ.
WE BELIEVE that all men need a Savior from sin and
that “God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should
not perish, but have everlasting life.”
WE BELIEVE that the local church is a company of believers
in Jesus Christ, baptized by immersion and associated
for worship, ministry, and fellowship. We believe that
the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper
were committed to the local church for observance “till
He come.” We believe that God has laid upon the
church the task of preaching the Gospel to a lost world….
WE BELIEVE that each person is directly and solely responsible
to God in matters of faith.
WE BELIEVE that each church is independent and autonomous,
free from all intervention, either political or ecclesiastical;
for this reason, there should be a separation of church
and state, each one with its distinct functions and
fulfilling its obligations. We believe that the New
Testament church is composed of regenerated members,
baptized by immersion and voluntarily united for the
purpose of worshiping God, fellowshiping one with the
other, and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through
all the world.
WE BELIEVE that our Baptist Distinctives are spiritually
sound. They are:
1. The Holy Bible, inspired by the Holy Sprit, is our
only rule of faith and practice.
2. The priesthood of every believer.
3. A regenerated church membership.
4. Baptism by immersion.
5. Autonomy of the church.
6. The separation of church and state.
